Questions and Answers regarding the Tennis Season
Q. What is It?
A. A just for fun (and a little cash) Tennis Group that plays once a week or so.
Q. What is the level of play?
A. Weekend Warriors. Kind of the old guys league. Maybe 2.5 to 3.0 on the NTRP rating system.
Q. Where do we play?
A. When weather permits we play on any available court (Newport High, Various Parks, etc)
Indoor courts we use are Robinswood and Seattle Tennis Center (rarely).
Q. When do we play and how often?
A. Whenever we can. Mostly weekends. Some players might like weekdays. Once a week is the goal.
Q. What if I can't play once a week?
A. That's ok. Not everybody will be able to play all the time. 1 to 2 times per month is acceptable.
Q. Does it cost money? ( Summer is a free trial period to test the level and interest )
A. Yes. We put in $60 per person into the pot. $20 will go towards new balls for every match. The other
$40 per person goes into the pool for the winners at the end of the season. Also, in the bad weather
month's we must rent indoor courts. This would be paid by the players playing that day. Indoor
courts are $24 to $28 dollars per session for doubles ( $6 to $7 per player per match )
When weather permits we play outdoors on free courts.
Q. How does the playoffs work?
A. An end of season tournament will be played outdoors next summer. Details to follow later.
